>What does that even mean?
every single issue I've had so far has been related to just getting steam to read my external drives.
Granted part of that has been me needing to learn stuff, or needing to fix something I broke but needing to learn and fix stuff is the exact opposite of "it just works" that I was shilled on.
>First startup, they all mount fine but steam cannot play games off of them. I later learn this is because they're formatted in exfat and ntfs
>try to edit /etc/fstab according to a guide to make stuff playable on these drives
>"oops, your system is fucked and you can't boot up, you need to go into recovery mode :)))"
>try to just format drives into ext4 from the kde partition manager
>accidentally check a flag to make it a bootable partition
>home directory becomes fucked and none of my apps work now because the system thinks it is contained entirely in an empty ssd
>only manage to solve the problem by plugging it into another computer and formatting it back to ntfs
>get it back on my PC, now fails to mount and throws errors like "bad superblock"
>after hours of fiddling and trying various fix commands like fsck and such, its working again
>try to format it into ext4 again, this time correctly.
>"oops, you can't store games here. Only admin has privilages to do that:))))"
>need to learn about chown commands and read/write privileges
>finally get the drive into ext4 and give it the proper permissions.
>steam still doesn't detect it as a usable drive for some reason
