There is a sense in which THINKING provides is with more objective than our actual perception. For instance, if I am looking at an object with a triangular face, the subjective appearance of that face will vary widely depending on my viewing angle. However, I can know with absolutely certainty that the that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. I know that aspect of the triangle is true, whereas other aspects could be illusory.
