We don't have flood records going back 1,000 years so that's complete bullshit right off the bat.
Texas has about 1/600th of the Earth's land area.
NC has about 1/1200th of the Earth's land area.
Of course these entire States didn't flood, only a tiny fraction of them did. 1% maybe?
So 1/60000th and 1/1200000 of the Earth's land.
Assuming the floods were independent events you'd expect this to HAPPEN ALL THE FUCKING TIME even if it was 'once in 1,000 years'.
Assuming they weren't independent events then it's even more likely because they both had the same cause.
