I only want to add, that Himmler wasn't hlaf as 'ice-cold', as he is usually portrayed. He was a big family man, even had an adopted son, who got him in quite some trouble because he was a little rascal. He adored his daughter, and she adored him,and after the war nver once spoke a bad word about him, but suopported all right-wing movements in germany, helped out veterand, and did a lot of good. I had a gret-uncle who was a high-ranking SS officer and who knew him peronally, and he told me that he was a fun guy to be around with a big sense of humor and always ready for a joke. I doubt a lot of what has been written abiout him after the war by the usual suspects.
