That's not how it works boss
Your wages didn't go up and you're still buying food at inflated prices.

I don't hate vegans boss. Jealous honestly. Killing isn't fun and it honestly makes me tear up sometimes.
Crops get eaten, pests, weeds, deer, weather.
Chickens
They just exist till I'm hungry and then I walk out back and there it is. Predator comes through? I free range. They scatter and if he gets even 1 bird the rest are hiding, in trees etc..
I bury my roosters as if they were family because they are my "workers".
He protects
He provides
We thrive together.
Pick related. This was after I thought he fought a fox He was drug into the woods by a fox and I went running down with my gun, by the time I got there he was strutting out of the woods with blood all over his spurs and missing a chunk of tail feather.
If it makes you feel any better I throw scraps into a feeding area as a "offering" to possum, coyote, and fox, I free range and I get less predation than people who lock them up.
I truly believe there is a form of balancing.
I get maybe 1 predator a year around spring who hasn't learned the rules yet, usually a hawk who gets bottle rockets shot at him.
