Why are the strokes of vocabulary so counter-intuitive? Like Ka for instance, you're bound to a specific structure of how you draw the lines, which is already weird, but, fine, Japanese culture's about conformity so sure we can do that BUT

it's fucking stupid, because with the first stroke, you're doing that first curvy line down to the base of the hiragana, and then, instead of drawing up from that line to the top, and then striking down for the third line, so your pen or pencil or retarded ink brush no one uses for anything but school shit, doesn't splatter everywhere, and cuts down time writing the hiragana, no, you gotta move your hand up to start on a whole new stroke going to nearly the same point again, and THEN go back up and to the third stroke and THEN you're done. WHY.

If we're going through all this stupid shit, someone's gotta tell me why or I will nothing but contempt for these inefficiencies. It's not a minor squibble, every time I gotta draw Ka in this exact frustratingly counter-intuitive way I gotta waste time that adds up to lost productivity, affecting the very same flow of society I'm supposed to be going along with. Literally why does it matter what order the strokes go in, if it's not going to be the way to be the most efficently drawn? If this is how they've always done it, why have they always chose to do it WRONG?
