hoennfags always try to lump gen 3 in with whatever seems most popular at the time. sometimes that's the gameboy gens, sometimes it's the ds gens, and sometimes it's some weird schizophrenia involving prime numbers.
the truth is that gen 3 doesn't do anything exceptionally well, so their only recourse is to find a scapegoat region they can deflect to. see the bitching about sinnoh's HMs or lack of fire types, for example.
