there are these evolutionary models that try to model something like that, although in a very simplified form, with some assumptions about costs.
the idea is that after the chad/tyrones (hawks) take over and are the majority, eventually the beta (dove) has some fitness advantage.
not really clear it works like that in humans but it's more of a kind of evolutionary game theory.
