Why do people even play these card games?

>Can't make a deck with just cute girls because it will not be viable
>no point in trying to come up with your own original decks because almost everyone will be using meta setups that that give you the most chances to win (or to even the field)
>have to buy and open packs to even have the cards to play
It's like mahjong but they keep adding new yaku and you have to buy new tile sets to stay competitive.
I admit it's fun watching videos about unconventional non-meta decks winning but I'm too low iq to pull something similar.
