Supposedly his anti-immigration politics goes back to high school IIRC, but maybe that's just part of the story.
When his white nationalist emails leaked, one of my first thoughts was that he might be trying a bit too hard to fit in.
I also saw him pull the holocaust card in an interview, though it was cynical.
