I'm actually cutting to a deeper critique of modern game writing, the thing that I think most people really mean when they roll their eyes at "yet another black woman" in their game. Most characters are unpleasant. They're grating to interact with and, at best, merely tolerating your presence. This might be due to their writers failing to recognize all their own "friends" hate them, or are at least hollow people who merely project what they themselves assume is "pleasant" behavior. You write what you know, after all.
