I'm not sure if Lindsay's character in the show, Ruby, hates gays or not.
It looked ambiguous. Ruby was having a meltdown and the two characters the gay fanbase wanted to be gay for years finally admitted they were gay for each other, so when they admitted it in front of everyone on screen, Ruby finally lost her shit because there was far more important stuff at hand. They were all trapped in some fantasy world, hunted by pretty much everything, had watched thousands of inhabitants of that world die, and here are these two holding hands and skipping along bragging about being gay.
It killed the whole show. I mean the show's fanbase was 90% gays and trannies by that point, and 10% diehards that started watching in 2013 and were just hanging on to see the end of the story.
The gay and tranny fanbase were trying to make everyone gay and trans in the show.
It alienated a massive part of the normal people that just liked neat stories and badass fights with cool weapons.
It fundamentally altered Yang, a character notorious for not having any tiedowns except to her sister and father, whose whole backstory and reason for becoming a Huntress was to go out and have adventures.
It did the same for Blake, a character who rejected a lesbian's advances previously because Blake was hung up on another character's dick
The fanbase tried to claim that Nora was a tranny and that Ren was gay for her simply because Nora's color scheme had tranny flag colors in it before the tranny flag was invented.
The gay and tranny fanbase also tried to make the terrorist group, White Fang, an analogue for blacks in the 60s fighting for civil rights, and that shit backfired on them when people were like "Don't the White Fang just steal, kill, and terrorize only humans, and are just all around assholes led by a faunus who wants to enslave all humans?"
The weirdos were inventing all kinds of retarded shit.
