On this general topic, I honestly really like the idea that Mari said some reprehensible shit to Sunny that she didn't mean in the moment, but this was the straw that broke the camels back and she just snapped. To really highlight how unbelievably out of character this moment was for the both of them. The passive Sunny snapped and broke the violin, something his friends that he values so dearly worked hard to get him, and then resorts to a violent act. The serene and calm Mari is screaming in the face of the little brother she loves so much, refusing to understand why he's acting this way. This would be and was the moment for extreme things to happen.
Back on what you're saying, that sounds like it could be interesting. If that is going to be the plot, I hope it won't go too far and say Mari was always a horrible person. Mari had her flaws, but she wasn't an awful person by any measure. I should really play that fangame before I make judgments about modern Otomerson's writing, but this is Oto we're talking about.
