There were two separate, distinct, different GoBots super robots cartoons as well as toy series
The was an effort to battle the Voltron craze sweeping Transformers under the rug
Not to be outdone, Transformers launched multiple Vehicle-to-robot-to-super-robot toy lines to compete.
And did.

One of the GoBots shows / toy lines was space based, and one was planetary based, unless I am imagining all of this
(One had cars for wheel feet, ground based if I do so recall)
In fact, GoBots, I always believed to be separated knock off brand competing on its own entirely, but unless I am imagining I seem to recall there being a Cross Over of GoBots with Transformers to put Voltron to bed for good? IDK. It was...another...life....

It is just so very hard to compete with Five cool colored Robotic HUMAN Controlled Lions forming a gigantic Robotic Lion man warrior with a sword....also controlled by Humans, no matter how many dragon robots or Construct-Acons, or DinoSauruAcons

Fucking Lion Robots are just cooler than the Cement Mixer Robot
