More than once they'd try to start shit by insulting you or one of your wives, and more than once Cattleya or Gerty would yell back at them for their insults. Though you were able to counter the arachne easily with how domineering you were, with how you weren't intimidated, and because didn't take their insults without biting back, which surprisingly seemed to impress a number of them.
Again, you had to lasso in Gerty to stop her from demanding duels, along with Cattleya's and even Herta constantly coming to your defense, with the rest of your wives providing support you when needed. Despite the trouble happening, seeing your wives have so much faith and respect for you made you happy.
Ruby Rose, however, seemed pointedly disappointed when meeting the arachne. Almost as though she expected them to act more intelligently.
A common trend was seeing human administrators from both Eastia and Westphalia entering and leaving the building, issuing out orders or just inspecting the place. Sometimes it ended with contradicting orders, but more often than not both sides were surprisingly competent and familiar with each other. They were, despite most's low opinion of them, friendly enough to hold a conversation with and far more bearable to be around than the gnomes and the arachne. Though you could see they were where all the inefficiency stemmed from, it was also clear that these people knew how to keep Centria together. Whether they could all survive a crisis, however, you couldn't tell.
And, after another two hours of going around, you eventually manage to trick one of the elves into getting a Westphalian administrator to grant you the elusive 'green forum'. This then led you to the cheerful elf from before, which then also lead you to the tired receptionist from before.
"Thank you for your service." Said the elf woman you first saw here, now considerably more tired than before. "Everything is in working order. By tomorrow morning your patent will be in effect."
"Thank the gods." Mel sighed in relief. "That felt like ages."
"Only been a few hours, mate." Cattleya meowed. Despite her words, she was visibly relieved as well.
"Master, that might've been long and hard," Bertha said, then gained a lustful smile as she spoke to you, "But I know there's something else that's long and hard that could make the worries of a gal like me get blown away completely~" She ended with an unsubtle wink.
You heard a certain elf woman clear her voice.
"There is still more: You have the decision to let your patent last for a total of 20 years and an annual fee of 300 gold." She held up a hand, as if stopping any objection from anyone in the room, herself included. "I'm aware that might not be long for any long-lived species, yet the nature of these patents were made with human sensibilities in mind, considering you are human Savant Lord.
