I think your second point is right, all that kompromat is still useful leverage right now, at least until AI video generation finishes maturing, which will defang all that blackmail material by introducing infinite plausible deniability. I think they want to hold out that long, so that if anything does ever leak they don't have to swing from lampposts for it.
