Why lorefags think i was ignoring the story for past 5 years and the reason I don't understand the story is because i did not memorise text of some obscure poem back in Liyue that mentions some random mythology bit "character A created B with character C"? No, I don't understand what is going on with shades and cosmic horror demigods looking at me in the sky because the game used to be more grounded on medieval fantasy mythology and this eldritch nonsense mixed with creationism just wasn't in the game and now feels out of place. I rewatch Fatui teaser every now and then and each time get shivers because it's such a good piece, but this last trailer i felt absolutely nothing. The only people who seem to be happy are waifukeks. The story is meh. They are expanding the universe by making ancient mythology and events barely known to people of teyvat suddenly crucial. And that fucking bullshit with spaceship. Once you understand the underlying pattern, you know that Genshin story was retconned and now nothing makes sense and Nod Krai will be series of absurdly sounding events full of newly added factions, gods, places, new lost empires, traitor kings and of course, the timeless classic: yet another other realm we will enter to meat talking spinach or colour blue. If they kept the story grounded in the world of teyvat itself, in the people who actually live there then it would be good. Now there are fuckable shades and fuckable skirk. Like cool shit, sure, but actually no. They exist only because wuwa is succesful and they are stealing their character designs. Genshin used to stand out.
