It's funny, when I was a kid I felt embarassed that my family had a dog that wasn't fully potty-trained(lazy boomer mom with "fibromyalgia", dad who worked 70 hours a week) like it was a big secret.
Nowadays I've realized at least half the pet dogs are shitting and pissing inside. A lot of Millennial pet owners just slap down puppy pads everywhere. Sure, a lot of people aren't bothering with training but I feel like it's just the luck of the draw whether you get a dog that instinctively wants to go outside or one who doesn't care.

I don't know why state/city governments haven't enacted fines for backyard breeders. They try to regulate every other imaginable sideline(can't even sell snacks or loose cigarettes in the park without getting swarmed by cops). And the city/county is going to have to eat the cost of feeding/euthanizing all these unwanted shelter dogs.
