I saw some great furniture early commie period in Poland, very high quality
Chipboard tough as nails quite indestructible with walnut veneer finished in high gloss, guess that was the fashion back then
Also saw something similar but not finish that well and noticeably cheaper that was utter shit and falling apart from age alone, chipboard was disintegrating without even water damage
