the other 3 fit into the same family with the 1886, 1892 and 1894. the only real difference between the 1886, 1892 and 1894 is how big the receiver/action is. The 1886 is the big framed gun, the 1892 is the small framed gun and the 1894 is the medium framed gun. sometime around WWII winchester stopped making 1892s because they were only selling them to farmers in South America and were only making 1894s, the medium action. then .44 mag and .357 mag and .45 long colt got big but instead of bringing back the tooling for the 1892 they just built 1894s in those smaller rounds so you have an action way bigger than it needs to be because it was cheaper for winchester to only make 1 receiver size.
