>I honestly think DT/UT is just the result of its young fans not knowing much about videogames. If you never knew MegaTen and other older rpgs exist, you would think "sparing enemies" or multiple endings are a novel groundbreaking mechanic. These games are nowhere near as stimulating, fun or challenging as actual true bullet hells which require absurd reflexes. The writing is also not very good, monsters being humanlike, humans being mean, determination, etc. are all stale cliches but because the music is 10/10 it elevates the cliche slop's presentation. Even breaking the 4th wall and being meta has been done before a zillion times. The humor has aged very badly too. The reddit doggos and their woof woof borking, the Steven Universe-isms and other redditshit, the bone puns which wouldn't make anyone laugh if they didn't know it was from the meme character, etc. I'd say these games have great music, everything else is mediocre. It's all style no substance like Persona. And the fanbase is equivalent to bronies, vtumors, but Toby Fox stuff isn't popular enough to warrant their own board like the bronies and vtumors.
