Most of its citizenry want to go back to east European hegemony. Pootin being the power hungry manlet he is, would love to revive it but with Russian characteristics (traditional and hierarchical etc). Similar to China where they allow capitalism but make sure a portion of capital ownership belongs to the state while dictating company policy through legislative power (which is backed by the military) while pretending it's what Marx really wanted. Of course you simply buy into the aesthetics without knowing the power play being employed in international affairs, it's all vibes and pomo bullshit 'haha I love Trump backing his tradbro across the atlantic'.
