Protagonist syndrome. The boomers who were Democrats during the 60s are still stuck in their Me Generation mindset where they're forrest gump and they're the protagonist of their own life and that means they're the good guy and do no wrong so what they did in the 60s needs to be upheld as eternal law and the youth can't ever change what's BEEN SETTLED. The PP v. Casey Supreme Court decision is basically an insight on this insane mindset. Instead of actually making a ruling based on law, they just straight-up admitted Roe v. Wade was an unhinged decision which had no real basis in law, and said they'd uphold it anyway based on protagonist syndrome itself as a self-sustaining eternal principle and the people shouldn't defy this and try to question it. They called it a "final settlement" and it just obviously wouldn't be decisive. There might be some just trying to supplement SS mixed in there but it's the hippy generation, so there's a lot of true believers in there even if they're being paid. Most people who work on political campaigns won't do it without some ideological motive, unless they're actively trying to investigate that side of the aisle and see how paid protesting works and what corrupt practices may be occurring.
