Morality wise, yes. In terms of understanding reality itself, potentially, it’s debatably human’s best attempt to understand it for the time period.

I don’t know. I clearly remember a black mark on pikachu’s tail, but when you look back, there was never one. When it happens, it gives me feelings similar to Deja Vu. But I’m aware that it could just be a human brain’s inability to retain information that the subconscious mind deems “meaningless” in order to free up synaptic room for newer memories. So on this point I’m neutral.
