Indians have always been called the primary Asians in England while East Asians are called by their nationalities. It's just as stupid as calling only East Asians Asian. Asia is a big continent.

But I guess this is what led America /pol/ into some paranoia about an Asian = Indian conspiracy.

Indians in India have the exact opposite problem of East Asian looking people desperately wanting to be called Indian.
