I agree. I still don't get why it's so highly rated. Slow as shit to the point of making atb worse because the bars fill up during slow animations anyways. Equipment system is worse version of espers, tetra master is worse than triple triad, trance is the worst version of limit break, you get no control of your party until 2/3 into the game where it still doesn't give you that much control. Party members get underleveled because of how much they get taken away. Overrated as shit.
