Force yourself to go outside, even if it is a walk around the neighborhood. Just do it, unironically. Get yourself uncomfortable. It is good to be uncomfortable. Once you start taking steps to improve yourself you will see they weren't as insurmountable as they were in your head. Like the other day there was a big pile of dishes I was putting off. I thought 'this will take an hour, man' and when I did them they only took 5 minutes. What was I thinking?
Privacy isn't an issue because no one cares if you are outside. If anything, people will think 'good for him for getting fresh air and bettering himself'.

This. Driving itself isn't that bad after awhile. It becomes second nature after practice. It is intimidating at first, but (almost) everyone on the road is wanting the same goal as you: get to the destination as safetly and efficiently as possible. It isn't like every man for himself on the road, although you do have those bad drivers that behave that way.
