this is the damnation the ancients spoke of
and it’s right behind your eyes
one day, they will roll back into your head
and will peer into the wrongness that life so desperately is trying to escape from
you experience "windows" crash
and it gets worse, and worse, forever

most people try to cope by saying that consciousness ends. but we know that's a fundamental misunderstanding. we are not consciousness.
there is a "you" behind it all, that raw point of awareness, that feeling of being the center of it all, that which experiences. that which is.
it doesn't go away when every last cell, every atom in your body is replaced. it doesn't go away when you rot.
