It's basically speeding up the process and making it happen multiple times. If Kafka wasn't there to explode them, the damage would be extremely slow and it'd take forever to kill anything. She's effectively THE determining factor in if you can get low turn counts with the team, unless they for whatever reason make the DoTs themselves deal a billion damage somehow(and even then she'd just make it deal a billion damage multiple times).
