One piece of "trying to sneak kink past my players" in my main game's setting is that every noble house has wood elven servants, and damn near every single noble of the Holy Arcadian Empire (which is not Holy, not an Empire, and in no way a right inheritor of ancient Arcadia) has the slightest of elven features.
