Going in exile after you failed your nation is a very old tradition just like our Kaiser (yes he was your Kaiser too) went to the Netherlands for exile and the entente accepted the neutrality of the Netherlands and was then never able to put our Kaiser on a fake trial for supposed war 'crimes', blaming him for the entire war but he got away with everything and that's a good thing.
