That's called immersion I.E. a feature, not a flaw. Prewar people today are beautiful because we live in good times. Postwar people tomorrow are ugly because they live in bad times. Imagine if every damn day it is 120+ degrees hot and you never get to shower in your entire life and constantly suffer from radiation sickness and dehydration and etc. makes sense being hideous becomes the norm
