I see these people and "people" too.
Frankly I blaim democratic decline and socipolitical incapacity before oligarchy that has encroached and undermined our civilizational model for a few decades.
To be completely and painfully honest - the legitimacy crisis in the west is similar to that which the soviet empire had in its death throes.
The only real silver lining is that change and rehabilitation here in our society and system isn't as inextricably tied to annihilation of the system itself due to its own nature as it was in the soviet empire.
