And they are the last hold out of rave honestly. Hippies/Goa have been part of the rave scene since day 1. Arguably it was Goa that really contributed the most to how raves even look and feel. Look at Goa photos from the 60s/70s and they don't look any different from a modern rave. Just they are listening to bongos and psychedelic rock, which eventually got looped on recorders and drum machines and turned into Goa Trance.
