it's clearly not the same, neglecting a very small child really can fuck their personality, compared to regular spoiling them, like it was doffy's case. still, that doesn't justify them becoming pieces of shit as adults, but in loki's case, it's mirroring chopper's backstory, which means, loki being rejected and then finding a person who rescued him and ended up inspiring him, which makes me believe rocks will be the hiluluk to loki, he won't be another generic bad guy, he'll probably care about loki and they could end up having a distorted version of the shanks and luffy relationship.
