Meh. It could have been a lot more interesting if there was, you know, actual urgency. But instead, they dicked around for 11 episodes, only getting serious for the last two, and the first half of the finale barely has jack shit to do with the main plot. The whole assassination thing felt so utterly tacked on that if you removed those scenes, it would have ZERO impact on the plot. As some have discussed before, it feels like they could have done more to build up the main cast and their growing cohesion. As it is, they barely feel like a team, even a ragtag group like other Watanabe casts. Bebop crew was dysfunctional, but was kind of like a little hodgepodge family. Champloo trio were all misfits who kind of managed to be a barely competent whole. And Dandy was at least able to share the vibes with his pals even when he was just cruising the BooBies joints. Can't say anything about the Lazarus team really stood out. Chris was kind of hot, Axel's whole prison thing could have been interesting if it played more events or even some goal like he'd be granted a reduced sentence if he could manage a thousand consecutive escapes.
