Yeah like before, since he was paired with serious characters (The Seven + Slone), it was easy for him to work as some goofy do-gooder since it contrasts those ge's partnered with. After the stuff with him and AMIE in Ch 4 though he became irrelevant until Slone suddenly returns and then he's apparently the one who time traveled to the OG map? Then Chapters 5 & 6 I agree make him way too grumpy like, I get what they were going for with the whole jaded thing since he doesn't have anyone, but it just feels like a different character at times. It doesn't help that when he does become sincere or shows any other personality it's just to be Hope's #1 cheerleader because they need every character to tell you that Hope is important since they fucked up her introduction in Chapter 5 by not having any voiced quests. I think the only good interactions Jones has had in recent memory was him arguing with The Oracle in Wrecked
