I legitimately just think it refers to him being Rocks' son. By now we have all sorts of forbidden hybrids like Buccaneers and Ancient Giants and shit like that, he's bound to be some weird cross species or mutation due to Rocks being one, which is kinda boring, honestly.
I always hoped Blackbeard's secret would be something far more intriguing, but seeing as Oda has lately gone all in with these hybrids and new races like Lunarians and shit, I think it's just to set up Blackbeard being like a hybrid between all of them or some shit like that. Like maybe Rocks was buccaneer and Teach's mom was a Lunarian or some shit like that. I'm not holding my breath, because either it's that (boring) or it's like some say and he's like a split-personality or multiple souls in one body (schizo shit) so I'm not particularly invested. I hope Oda surprises us and it's somethinga ctually interesting.
