From what I know the deal was that Iran will allow inspections and ship uranium out of the country (which they did) and in return their oil sanctions would be lifted and they'd be allowed to access their own money in frozen assets in America but there was no payments to Iran afaik, I could be wrong, can you expand on that.
Either way it's always a speculation but the fact is that Trump was a player in the Iran ordeal in both his terms.
