It's the only avenue available now.
Unfortunately companies are dying for their skaters to place in events because that's what the kids look for. The industry is run on money coming in and now that its a legitimate Olympic sport thats what people are looking for to convince people to go out and spend money on merchandise. The shoe company wants their skaters to be on the Olympic stage. They want them to believe that the shoe makes the skater. It's the Puma/Adidas situation. Nike doesn't want to be stuck with skaters that sit around and film videos all day. They want athletes that are clean cut and of good character because thats what sells the products to kids. It might suck and be lame but kids are lame and scooters arent in the Olympics as far as im aware.
