The Gelgoog Rifle is the exact same situation. Most of the suits that can use it have either strictly better options (Desert Zaku, Gelgoog Ground Type, Umagoog, Hi-Mo Goog, Galbaldy Alpha and EPgoog) and buffing it would only benefit the Gelgoogs that would rather use the BR or can only use the BR (Vischgoog, Gelgoog350, Chargoog, and Mgoog)

Buffing it would also make it a viable option for the former suits. In fact, Johnny's Gelgoog got the perfect version of the rifle.
