Bubu is so fucking smoothbrained in the most endearing way. Eatchel is just ignorant dumb, while with Bubu stupid shit don't register at all. The cave story time loop was also not too tedious, but not too short either, so the emotional part did have an impact. Her design matches well with her personality, with a hilarious cup size on a small frame, reinforcing the impression every single skillpoint went into chest growth instead of IQ.
