I read an interview with a guy from Kemco in an EGM and he said that he simply thought showing this old guy with a banjo on the box would help the game stand out on the shelf against the dozens of other space shooters out there. I kinda wish there was a more interesting story behind this. The old guy also played Santa Claus on this album cover.
