It came about from one guy aggressively posting male content regardless of the quality and several people getting so pissed at him that a rule was added that the threads would be female only after a strawpoll. Then he made a seperate thread called /brapall/ and we had two competing fart threads on the catalog for a few weeks. Anons would go into the opposing thread just to troll and shitpost. Outsiders would angrily ask why there were two /brap/ threads now. It was very vitriolic.
We come to today and the fetish has grown, male art has gotten better, and people have gotten used to multiple /brap/ threads with different niches existing.
