Interesting. I do know that Sigmund Freud was addicted to cocaine, and that most of his work has been discredited in contemporary psychology. Psychology itself is a meme discipline anyway, so that is really saying something. I didn't know that he was protecting his pedo friends though.
I still do think that mommy issues are a real thing, particularly for men who believe that they were abused by their mothers. For them, seeking a relationship with a woman who they want to be their surrogate mother figure is a way for them to relive and work through their perceived trauma
The same things works for women who feel abandoned by their fathers or who otherwise grew up with out a father figure in their lives as children. These women often seek relationships with much older men or abusive men.
