Just skimmed through the thread, so I apologise if this has already been said here or anywhere else, and I'm going to feel really dumb if this is a common theory that everyone already knows about, but Touhou 20 may well be the last game in the series

This isn't a bad thing, though, I think ZUN may have found the perfect way (or maybe someone else gave him the idea) to wrap things up

I don't know who the character on the cover is, it might not be the stage 6 boss

I have a theory about who's sealed in the pyramid:

This isn't about Mima, she's probably never coming back (although that silhouette does look an awful lot like her), but ZUN has brought back PC-98 characters in the past and he hasn't done it recently but that doesn't mean he won't do it again

This game is about age, letting go and following your dreams, the bosses get older as you progress through the stages, and ZUN is getting older too, he's not a young man anymore and he's clearly lost interest in Touhou, he just wants to retire and spend the rest of his life with his family like any married man

It would be a perfect way to bookend the series if he brought her back

It's been 29 long years, but maybe it's finally time to bring her back: the first ever final boss of any Touhou game

Maybe it's time for Sariel, the Angel of Death to make her return

Death is certainly a very, very old concept, as old as life itself, so it would be appropriate
