i agree that the "5th generation" name was mainly a marketing trick used by companies instead of a natural evolution, but the reason the companies tried to force through a new generation is BECAUSE their 4th gen groups werent hitting the same heights of BTS / BP whatever just a few years prior so they thought they needed something frehs. so 5th gen in a way is a result of the recent decline of kpop, not a cause
