I was re-watching old R&M episodes when something occurred to me. We've all been wondering about the logistics behind the circus and how each person got here, but what if we have been looking at it the wrong way? What if the circus is a simulation inside a simulation? An unfinished game hidden inside a bigger game played by a lot of people. Something that you have to either really try to find or get very unlucky to stumble across. It would explain how so many different people got here all at different times.
