Something about it is unintuitive. I hate fighting my instincts of getting a stagger and then just going for riposte with the Suncatcher.
I play Chargeblade a lot in Monster Hunter which works mostly the same way giving you guard points/parries on weapon mode switching but at least both modes of the weapon are useful and you can play either one if you really wanted to.
