You pulled that picture from the Wikipedia article on the Lvov pogroms in 1941. Even the wiki admits that they happened because local populations across Eastern Europe discovered the thousands of political prisoners murdered by the Red Army as it retreated, and they knew that jews had often been the most enthusiastic supporters of the Soviets in their communities.

When you see a pictire like this, remember the untold number of Soviet atrocities that didn't get their place in the history books but still ruined lives all the same.
